November 2nd, 2010All Saints School – Fronter Access Point
November 11th, 2009Our school makes use of a Learning Platform along with several other schools in North Yorkshire. You may hear Learning Platforms being referred to as Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs) or Managed Learning Environments (MLEs). North Yorkshire has selected ‘Learning Platform’ as the term to be used throughout the LEA. At All Saints School, we refer to this by the software name ‘Fronter’.
Learning Platforms make the link between home and school, and provide an opportunity for children to continue the learning experience at home. Parents should note that at this early stage we will only be scratching the surface of what Fronter is capable of. You can find more information about VLE’s by following the link below. Each child has their own username and password, and we are encouraging the children to use the learning platform as much as possible.
Children should remember that their actions are logged, and that it is their responsibility to keep their password secret. Abuse of the system will lead to access being withdrawn. All children return a signed user agreement before being permitted to access Fronter from home.
We encourage parents to use Fronter with their children at home. Fronter should work on any internet-capable computer, including Windows XP and Vista, Mac OS X, and Linux. It should work with any web browser including Microsoft Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, and Opera.
